Synopsis

Tasha Skinner finally shed the baggage of a failed marriage. Now, she’s looking forward to a night of margaritas and man-bashing. Tasha’s friends have other plans, including Leather, Lace and liberation.

Dylan Caprese didn’t want to go to Marquee, but he and his friends were on a mission. They took it upon themselves to make sure things didn’t get out of hand when wannabe Doms mixed alcohol with playtime at the monthly Leather and Lace night.

From the moment he set eyes on Tasha, he knew there was something different about her. She wasn’t some bondage babe who thought she knew what it meant to be into BDSM. She was much, much worse; she was innocent and trusting. He can tell she is something precious.

When Tasha’s past threatens to destroy her, Dylan begins to realize that while their paths have never crossed, their lives most definitely have. Will he be able to save her before it’s too late?

Excerpt

“Hey, you’re home,” I say in a voice sweet enough to make me want to vomit. I take the grocery bags out of her hands and place them on the counter. She stands in the middle of the room staring at me, so I make my way back to her, pulling her in for a hug. “Everything okay?”

“You know this isn’t my home, right?” Her tone is defensive. In the few days I’ve been gone, Tasha seems to have done a damn fine job of reconstructing the walls I thought we were finally breaking through.

“So you keep saying. At the same time, a little birdie tells me you tried going to your place and he had to peel you off the kitchen floor.” I eye her suspiciously, waiting to see if she’s going to come clean with me. I wouldn’t blame her if she doesn’t because from what Zeke told me, it wasn’t a pretty scene. I know I wouldn’t be rushing to share that kind of vulnerability with others.

“I told him not to say anything,” she sighs. The interesting thing is she doesn’t pull away from me. Instead, she buries her face deep in my chest and stands there. My hand ghosts up and down her back, trying to show her I don’t think any less of her.

“Precious, you can’t expect him to keep something like that from me. It would be nice if you trusted me enough to say something.”

“I. Don’t. Know. You.” It feels like she is punching me with each word. I wish more than just about anything that we had gotten off to a different start so ours wasn’t this backwards relationship where we lived together before we know the most basic things about one another.

She pulls away from me, storming into the kitchen. It’s funny how she’s pissed off that I dared to call this her home, and yet she’s standing in the kitchen rearranging my pantry.

“I’m not sure what I need to do to get it through your head, Dylan. While I appreciate what you’ve done for me, this isn’t my home, I’m not your ‘Precious’ and I never will be.” When she blows her bangs away from her face, it’s all I can do to keep from laughing.

“Get changed, we’re going to dinner,” I call out over my shoulder as I retreat to the bedroom before she can throw something heavy at me.

Review

I will admit when I first started Unexpected angel I was ready for some heavy BDSM. The cover and my expectations of the book were not what I got at all. But sometimes what you want isn’t what makes a book good. The BDSM was on the light side but definitely kept me intrigued. I believe the author played it right by making the BDSM in this book light because of Tasha’s past and how sheltered she was. I am very excited to read the second book in this series since it will deal with 2 people (no I wont tell you which two people you will have to read to find out!) have more experience in that life style that maybe it will go more in depth with BDSM.

Tasha, married young and divorced young and was ready to find herself with the help of her friends. When she thought she was going out for a night on the town with her girlfriends the last thing she thought would happen to her was to find out her friends were into BDSM. This shocked Tasha and peeked her interest as well.

Dylan is a hot Dom that takes his role very serious. Tasha catches his eye and he automatically has the urge to protect her and want her but he knows she is not experienced in his world. Dylan is not your normal Dom, he is very sensitive and knows when and how to play the role and wants to help Tasha see that being in his world will make her happy.

The last thing Tasha or Dylan were expecting going out to the “Leather and Lace” night at the club were to find someone they couldn’t stay away from.

Read Unexpected Angel and find out the obstacles Tasha will have to deal with and how protective Dylan becomes of Tasha so fast.

I give this book 4 stars!
