~ Synopsis ~
Chloe Carlyle has always longed for the perfect family.
Growing up with an alcoholic single mother, she has seen her share of heartbreak and disappointment, and is striving to build a new legacy for herself. After graduating from college, she takes a job working as a summer girl for the Reeds––a wealthy, accomplished family that personifies her American dream. Her summer takes an unexpected turn when the Reeds’ eldest son Tyler, the star quarterback for Notre Dame, shows up and turns her life upside down.
An ambitious young woman with a wry sense of humor, Chloe never imagined herself as the type to succumb to the looks and charms of the hometown hero, but she falls hard for Tyler, and is devastated when they part ways at the end of the summer. As she heads off to law school, Chloe tries to convince herself this was just a fling, but she can’t quite get over him. It’s not until Tyler contacts her out of the blue late one winter night that everything changes.
After doing everything in her power to build the perfect life, Chloe soon learns that there are things beyond her control. She must draw on inner reserves of strength as her life takes unpredictable—and sometimes heartbreaking—twists and turns, and she finds herself faced with decisions she never thought she’d have to make. Poignant, heartfelt, and emotional, Finding Bliss is a reminder that you don’t have to live a fairytale life in order to have a happy ending.
~ Review ~
This is the first book I read by Dina Silver and I will definitely read her work again. The story about the girl who isn’t really noticed who secretly loves the popular football player seems pretty common. But it wasn’t over played and it had its own story line that didn’t match a ton of others. Chloe may have not been popular but she knew what she wanted. When her dream came true and hooked up with Tyler (the popular football player) she was in heaven just to be brought back to realty when he brought home Sadie his “friend”. She tried not to let this bother her too much and not worry about if she got used or not. Chloe had a bright future and was determined to keep moving forward with life and continue her journey with law school and not let Tyler take over her world, especially since he was so hot and cold with her. But life isn’t that easy. Once she finally started moving on there was always a phone call stating how much he misses her, wants to see her. You will have to read to find out if Chloe gives in to Tyler’s late night phone calls!!! Chloe become really close with another student named Cam, swoon! I loved Cam and wanted Chloe to pick him over Tyler. I was not a big fan of Tyler and wished Chloe could she how perfect Cam was for her. From the beginning I never thought Tyler was good enough for Chloe. But Chloe and Cam had made a connection that Chloe didn’t want to complicate with getting involved with each other. Everyone could see that Cam wanted more then friendship with Chloe but settled for what he could get since he knew she was so in love with Tyler, had been for years. Chloe goes through a lot in this book and she handles it all very well. I just wanted Chloe to find her happiness in the book and I believe she does but this book left me wanting to know the next chapter in Chloe’s life when it ended. I give this book 4 stars!
