Naomi Knox is missing.
I don’t even f*cking know whether she’s dead or alive.
What I do know is that she’s the air I need to breathe.
She’s my redemption, an all consuming fire that burns in my blood.
And I’ll do anything to find her. Anything. Even if it means the end for me.
***
Turner Campbell is searching.
But he has no f*cking clue what it is he’s searching for.
There’s darkness all around and enough secrets to choke.
There are angels, and there are devils. It’s impossible to tell them apart.
Light needs to be shone on the truth, but there’s no one left to hold the torch. The line between life and death is blurred, and the players are all thoroughly entrenched in the game. The question is: am I still one of them?
There is no other way to start this review than to state: Seriously the best rock and roll book I think I have ever read!! When I think of Hot bands touring I obviously focus on the insanely hot Rocker, but there are so many other elements that make this book the best (Rock book) I have read in a long time…
-
Sex, yep there is lots of it. Between Real Ugly and Get Bent there is enough sex to satisfy a small army.
-
Groupies, been to enough concerts to see them first hand and C.M. Stunich has hit the nail on the head! Now I am not going to lie, I would love to be one of Turners groupies.
- Drugs, so many authors avoid talking about the drug use that goes on during tours. It happens. Its part of so many tours and it really created a lot of the atmosphere in this book.
- Naomi is a bitch, and I f*cking love that about her! Seriously, I enjoy that she isn’t sad and needy.
- Turner Campbell is sex on a stick. I love him, I want him, and seriously anyone who doesn’t is just f*cking crazy.
I read Real Ugly when I got the hot cover reveal for Get Bent, my thought was ‘if this cover is so hot, what the hell is book 1 all about?!’ Well, I was not disappointed. Real Ugly was a hot exciting book that really start my obsession with Hard Rock Roots. Real Ugly left me on a stressful cliff hanger and I am not exaggerating when I say I didn’t read for a good 3 days until I was finally able to face the fact that I had other books that needed review…
Get Bent did not disappoint. It picked up right where Real Ugly left off and it did not turn into a soft love story with hearts and fireworks. There was absolutely love, but only in true hard core rock fashion! Turner Campbell and Naomi Knox were great characters when a great story line!
I love how raw the books were and I really think it take unbelievably true talent to write a book the way these two books were written. C.M. Stunich is beyond talented and now I am left wondering ”What has she got for me next?!”
This book is an obvious 5 star book.
C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin’s (yes, that’s her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.
Always a fan of the indie scene and ‘sticking it to the man,’ Ms. Stunich decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. You can be assured though that she received several rejections as to ensure her proper place in the world of writers before taking up a friend’s offer to start a publishing company. Sarian Royal was born, and Ms. Stunich’s books slowly transformed from mere baking chocolate to full blown tortes with hand sculpted fondant flowers.
C.M. is a writer obsessed with delivering the very best and scours her mind on a regular basis to select the most unusual stories for the outside world.
Ms. Stunich can be reached via e-mail or by post and loves to hear from her readers. Ms. Stunich also wrote this biography and has no idea why she decided to refer to herself in the third person.
