~ Synopsis ~
Scout has always wanted to follow in her family’s business of custom bike building. Being female never stopped her from getting greasy and slapping on paint with the best of them, and made her work even harder at opening up her own shop someday.
~ Review ~
Painted lines is not your every day romance book. It is an intense raw book about a girl who has been dealt a horrible hand in life and working on trying to get past it the best she can. Harper Lee, also known as Scout is a cute spunky girl who is badass when it comes to building bikes and painting. She has her close group of guy friends that protect her like she is their little sister and sadly she doesn’t have much more.
When I started reading the book I read the warning that this is not a fluffly love story, let me tell you, that is a true statement! The book was so much more, Brei told a really hard sad story so beautifully that you were able to see past the terrible past of Scout and hope that she was able to find a way to have some sort of future.
Thayne is your ideal biker book boyfriend, he is smoke’n hot, has an a total bad boy vibe about him, but is really just a total sweetheart that makes you want to learn to ride a motorcycle in hopes of meeting someone like him! He was able to get scout out of her shell and show her that there was a possibility at a future.
I loved how Brei was able to touch on PTSD so truthfully and not pretty it up for the sake of the book. She kept this book so realistic you cant help but love it. It had me so stressed out at some point I have practically no finger nails left! This was a great book that I strongly suggest every read! It gets 5 stars from me!!
~ About the Author ~
Stay at home mom to one very interesting little boy. I have been writing since 7th grade when my English teacher turned me onto poetry and never stopped. Thank you Mrs. Williams. In high school I had yet another English teacher inspire me to start writing short stories where I found my first true love, turning words into something so simple yet complex that it can move other people to love it or hate it, but in the end to feel emotions about something I created.
